Native Plants + Beneficial Species + Edible Perennials

At Whaleback Nursery, we grow primarily native plants that thrive in our local ecosystems. Our nursery beds overflow with growth including a variety of native perennials, shrubs, and trees that support pollinators, improve soil health, and enhance biodiversity. We consume many of these plants ourselves in the form of leaves, berries, nuts, and flowers. In addition to native flora, we grow a few select non-aggressive and of course non-invasive beneficial species to help create a balanced and productive garden landscape.

Garden Consultations

& Design

Our garden consultation services are designed to assist both novice and experienced gardeners in creating thriving, sustainable landscapes. We will meet with you to assess your site conditions, discuss your gardening goals, and recommend appropriate plants and design strategies. We take into consideration factors such as soil health, sun exposure, and water availability to tailor a plan that meets your specific needs. During the consultation, we will also provide guidance on permaculture practices, companion planting, and the integration of native species to maximize the ecological benefits of your garden.

Farm Meals

We also love to celebrate the connection between food and the land by offering farm meals that showcase our seasonal goods. Our meals are crafted using fresh ingredients sourced from our nursery and local farms, highlighting the flavors and benefits of native and edible plants.
