Zizia aurea
Golden Alexander is a lovely little early-season wildflower that like other members of the Apiaceae family, is a host for Swallotail Caterpillars. It doesn’t get too tall, only around 3 ft at most, so it would do nicely in the front of a garden bed. Golden Alexander grows well in most soil conditions, and while it prefers full sun, it can tolerate part shade.
Hardiness: Zone 3-8
Soil: Medium
Light: Mostly Sunny to part shade
