Salix eriocephala
One of our native willow shrubs, this species has beautiful stem and leaf coloration all season long. In the spring, cotton-like catkins emerge before the leaves, which have unique clasping auricles along the stem. The straight and flexible stems can be used for basket weaving and like most willows, can be used for propagation. Just stick a cutting into the ground at least two nodes deep and you will have your own mature shrub in no time!
