Honeyberry - Bare Root Shrub

$18.00

Lonicera caerulea

Honeyberry or Haskaps is a shrub in the honeysuckle genus that is native to arboreal regions around the world, including North America. This plant is one of the first to leaf out and flower in the spring and accordingly has some of the first ripe fruits we eat. The namesake “honeyberries” have a delicious flavor, similar to a blueberry, but grow larger in size. What’s more, unlike blueberries, these plants will grow in all types of soil conditions. A mature bush will fruit heavily with routine pruning. Please note that this species requires a second plant for cross-pollination; however, this is a beautiful shrub that is a worthy addition to any garden or food forest.

Hardiness: 2-8
Soil: Average
Light: Full sun to part shade
