New York Ironweed - Bare Root Plant

$12.00

Vernonia noveboracensis

One of the tallest wildflowers we grow, this near-native plant has lovely little purple flowers that bloom in mid to late summer and into the fall. The sturdy stems allow this plant to tower over most herbaceous plants while preventing it from blowing over in storms. In the wild, it is most common along moist streambanks, but we grow it all over the farm to great success.

Hardiness: Zone 5-8
Soil: Wet to medium soils
Light: Full sun to part sun
