Silky Dogwood - Bare Root Tree & Cuttings

from $8.00

Cornus amomum

We primarily plant this native species as food for birds and deer, but the benefits of this tree go far beyond that. Silky dogwood thrives in swampy areas making it an excellent tree for riparian buffers and erosion control. On a local scale it does quite well in muddy areas of your property that might otherwise go unused. The thickets that this tree forms creates excellent habitat for all sorts of animals and provides interesting landscaping with bark that varies in color as well as white flowers and blue berries.

Silky dogwood roots incredibly easily from cuttings. Simply stick the cutting into the ground in a moist area. Ensure that at least one set of buds is underground, but aim for 75% of the cutting to be underground soil hardness permitting.
