Lycopus americanus
This member of the mint family doesn’t have the characteristic scent of other mints but has beautiful, unique toothed leaves. It is often found growing in sunny, moist areas such as next to a pond, stream, or drainage ditch. In late summer, small white flowers grow out of the axils, where the leaves meet the stem.
Hardiness: Zone 3-9
Soil: Wet to medium soils
Light: Full sun, but we have found it growing in quite shady conditions
