Wild Senna is a beautiful near-native perennial that is herbaceous (dies back to its roots in the winter), but will put on an impressive amount of growth each season once established. Mature plants produce a bright yellow, leguminous flower in mid-summer that attracts bumblebees, sweat bees, and more. In the fall, dark brown seedpods form and release the shiny seeds. Like other Fabaceae plants, it is nitrogen fixing and will improve surrounding soil conditions.
